We came into this movie with low expectations knowing how the last few Star Wars flicks were mediocre. Despite questions and flaws, the movie seemed to provide fans an ending that would be questionable but nothing that would make us lose our sleep. The fatigue of Star Wars prequels, sequels, and side stories the past 2 years helped us  move on easily from this. It just isn’t worth talking much trying to figure out how we can adore these old and recent characters: Luke, Leia, Lando, Rey Finn, and Poe. Which may be the reason why we haven’t visited the new Star Wars park in Disneyland yet. Disney+’s The Mandolorian however seems to provide solid answers to cliffhangers during and after each episode which is why we have continued to watch the series.

SPOILER ALERT: There goes a saying you can’t teach a dog new tricks. Having Emperor Palpatine as the ultimate villain once again may have captured the attention of old fans like myself but to have him go about the same exact monologue as to tempting the protagonist Rey is something we’ve seen done nearly 40 years ago with Episode VI Return of the Jedi. “Strike Me Down,” says Palpatine and become a true Sith Lord and she will take control of the Final Order fleet. She eventually does that and does not take control of the Final Order in an anticlimactic scene where she eventually declares herself a Skywalker while having no blood ties to the family lineage. Such considered a sacred name was now just taken leaving us family oriented people scratching our heads on perhaps looking at the Skywalker family tree with such disgrace. Not to mention she stabs Kylo Ren, heals Kylo Ren, kisses Kylo Ren which is by the way, a Skywalker in the family tree can me an emotional roller coaster ride. So much in fact that he dies to my opinion sums up the latest in the Star Wars trilogy, weird and fatigued.
